Robyn & Prakash - Miththam, Chennai
The first time I met Prakash was in 2018 - as the quiet brother of Divya, whose wedding I shot. When Divya messaged back in 2023 with the brief - “Hey, my brother is getting married next year and we are in the early stages of planning but we would love to have you onboard!” I didn’t think much of it then. She then subsequently said “Oh, there is a chance we have Jewish traditions as well as part of the wedding because Robyn is Jewish.” and that piqued my interest because the only Jewish wedding ceremony I have seen in my life was on the TV Show House M.D. :P
Fast-forward to 2024 when I met Prakash for the 2nd time, he was anything but the quiet brother that I had known. It felt from the get go that a lot of that has got to do with Robyn, and her free spirit. There were moments during their pre-wedding portrait session when I thought they are actual spirits ( like the twins from The Shining ). I am not kidding, see this:
The Shining ( 2024 )
The point is, there was no going back after this. They had set the standards and I am so glad they stuck to it throughout the wedding. It was a riot, the Sangeet was action packed with Uppu Karavadu blasting at full volume as well as the Hava Nagila and the crowd went berserk for both! The wedding had everything you would usually associate to a Telugu wedding but Robyn was not Delulu about it, she was present throughout the ceremony and she had a lot of FUN!
There came a point when Prakash didn’t know if the priest’s are going to light a fire but Robyn stepped in an told him they would. And they did.
You know what else is FIREEEE? This set of photos down below. Cheggit!
