Sahila & Prashanth - An intimate home wedding in Madras
On a rather sunny August morning, as we made our way to Prashanth’s parents’ house in Chennai, we saw a man in a pink t-shirt and trousers taking a picture of the nameboard of the couple, right outside the apartment building. He saw us waiting with cameras to take a picture of the same and said “Hey, sorry, I just wanted to take a quick picture.” “No problem at all,” we smiled, waiting for him to exit our frame. He popped back in for a second to say, “Sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. I’m Prashanth. I’m the one getting married today.” It’s fair to say that pretty much set the mood for the day - laidback, with a good dose of sillies 😄
Sahila and Prashanth got married amidst their closest friends and family in a simple Vedic ceremony amidst a meticulously maintained terrace garden, laughing and truly enjoying everything they had hand-picked for their wedding day. Right after the ceremony, all the guests got to hug them, talk to them, laugh with them, and along with them, Sahila and Prashanth walked down one set of stairs, ate their lunch and got back home to rest up. Best kind of weddings are truly where the bride and groom also get to chill and enjoy, don’t we all agree? 😄
The food was simple and kickass, much like the couple and this day. There was a rose-almond-tender-coconut baked gulab jamun on the menu, and I will never be able to disclose how many ended up in Rahul’s stomach 👀
