Darshini & Vivek

Only took us a little over 2 years to blog the most bloggable set in our archives, however, we have finalized reached promised land and are here to show you the journey of Darshini & Vivek and the thiru’vizha’ of a wedding they had.

Sometime in the later part of 2020, in the middle of the pandemic we took a call with Vivek & Darsh and they narrated to us the ideals and ideations at the core of their wedding. To keep it brief, it was THE dream wedding - not just for them, for us as well.

Set in the front porch of an under-construction house (Where Darsh’s parents would eventually move into, away from the city life) in a fledgling farm, we witnessed Vivek and Darsh take their vows.

A wedding, where the ingredients for the food and flowers for the décor were sourced from within a 10 kilometer radius. A wedding where the auspicious time was considered to be the time the sun rose. A wedding where we would hear a recital of verses from the Thirukural and not religious texts. A wedding, where the Thaali was not a marker of caste but a pendant signifying equality. A wedding with a flash mob (of sorts) dancing to the music of Parai Isai, an artform society has marginalized to funerals only.

A wedding where we made friends, for life.

Vivek & Darsh, finally on the blog.
